ABOUT PACIFICA EDUCATION FOUNDATION
The Pacifica Education Foundation (PEF) is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that aims to protect and advance quality education for the children in the Pacifica School District (PSD). PEF's mission is to ensure all of the children in Pacifica receive a high-quality education in music, art and science by providing an equitable and enriching educational experience for students across the schools within the PSD.
PEF raises money through annual events like the historically sold out PEF Gala in the spring and and Donation Days in the fall, as well as through annual giving and fundraising events led by community members. In addition, we apply for grants that fund music, arts, science and technology. All raised funds go towards supporting programs that the State of California eliminated during the past funding crises. PEF board members, ambassadors, and volunteers work with parents, teachers, PSD, and community advisors to identify areas of critical need.
Current Programs include:
-
Elementary School Music Program for all TK through 5th graders. PEF funds one music teacher and all supplies for all elementary school students.
-
Stage Performance + Rhythmic Culture (SPARC) Poetry. PEF funds the entire program for the 26-week residency including instructors, program supplies, and poetry event expenses for all fifth graders within the PSD.
-
Middle School Band Program. PEF funds instruments, sheet music, summer band, field trips and more at both IBL and Cabrillo.
-
