Volunteer Spotlight: Diana Kochieva-Oren

Diana Kochieva-Oren

Hi! My name is Diana Kochieva-Oren, and I’m a volunteer photographer for the Pacifica Education Foundation (PEF).

I love nature and wildlife photography and frequently photograph my son’s athletic events. I’m excited to help capture the wonderful work PEF does for the community.

My husband and I have been long-time supporters of PEF and truly appreciate the resources it has provided for our two children in elementary and middle school. We’ve seen a direct connection between their early exposure to music and the arts and their current passion for playing, writing, and performing.

Their first music teacher was the amazing Mark Unbehagen, who inspired them to love and understand music. Both our son and daughter played in the Cabrillo School Band and the Cabrillo Jazz Band. Our son is continuing to grow as a percussionist in the Terra Nova Marching Band.

It was also wonderful to see our daughter join the SPARC poetry class and perform at a poetry slam. She continues to develop as a drummer and has just formed a rock band with her friends.

Thank you, PEF, for all your efforts. I’m happy to give back to an organization that has given our family so much.
