This past year, the Pacifica Education Foundation continued to make a meaningful impact across the district, thanks to the generosity and commitment of families, educators, volunteers, businesses, and donors throughout the Pacifica School District.
A Year of Impact by the Numbers
2,600+ students served across all 6 Pacifica schools, TK–8
1,700+ elementary students received weekly music instruction, building creativity, persistence, and collaboration
100+ middle schoolers developed discipline, focus, and teamwork through PEF-supported band programs at Ingrid B. Lacy and Cabrillo
290 fifth graders built confidence and social-emotional skills through SPARC Poetry
280 sixth graders explored hands-on STEM through Science from Scientists
100% volunteer-run — every dollar raised supports student programs
Powered by Our Community
This impact is possible because our community shows up. This year, 65+ local businesses offered discounts to PEF members, 285 individuals and families became annual members, and our two fundraisers — Donation Days and the PEF Gala — raised a combined $150K from hundreds of community members and incredible gala sponsors.
That support is especially important in a district where resources are limited. Pacifica School District is the 2nd-lowest-funded district per student among San Mateo County’s 17 elementary/middle-school districts, with a $24.6K gap compared to the top-funded district. Community support helps close that gap and expand opportunities for Pacifica students.
Looking Ahead
Next year, PEF plans to sustain core music, arts, and science programs while expanding hands-on STEM programming from Science from Scientists to grades 3–5 at all five elementary schools.
